Beach City Pawn & Guitar of Huntington Beach, California is a full-service pawn shop, but their attitude definitely exudes rock n’ roll. Owner Eric Wesselink came to Bravo after experiencing frustration with other pawn software that wasn’t meeting the unique needs of his business.
“One of the biggest reasons I switched to Bravo is that when it came time to buy out a competitor’s store, we discovered that their existing pawnbroker software had the loan and interest rates all wrong. So, I was looking for more reliable software that wasn’t clunky and outdated.”
Bravo’s pawn shop management software not only brought Eric’s buy and sell numbers up to speed, but it also provided him with a host of other valuable tools that helped him better manage his store.
“I was looking for a software that was cloud-based, because I often work from home. I didn’t want to have to call and hassle the staff. Bravo lets me monitor my metrics remotely.”
Speaking of metrics, Eric also found that Bravo’s built-in categorization allowed him to monitor his margins by segment – a function he found particularly useful.
“What also attracted me was the productivity section. I’m able to follow up on the employees and get more insight on what’s going on, and what needs to be done. It takes away a lot of employee excuses.”
Eric has noticed a marked increase in overall operational efficiency.
“Bravo not only gave me the ability to list more of my items online quickly and easily, but the integrated productivity tools kept the staff a lot more on-task.”
Obviously, the most important thing any software for pawn shops can do is boost the bottom line. And Eric tells us that Bravo has also delivered on that front.
“Since making the switch to Bravo, my carried loan balance has increased from $74,000 to $103,000. And my buys went from an average of $2K-$3K up to $4K-$4,500. That’s an almost 45% increase.”
Eric also had kind words for Bravo’s customer support.
“I think it’s really fantastic. I’ve called the tech support team many, many times, and they all do a fantastic job.”
